Philippine Red Cross: Greening DRR Project

Project Overview
In response to the persisting challenge of climate change globally, different organizations and private institutions are promoting long-term solutions. The International Federation of Red Cross Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), in particular, is implementing Nature-based Solutions to address climate change, environmental degradation, and disaster risk.

IFRC, American Red Cross, and National Societies in the Philippines, Vietnam, and Jamaica partnered to implement the Greening Red Cross Red Crescent Disaster Risk Reduction: Saving Lives through Working with Nature (Greening DRR) project, funded by USAID Philippines. It is a two-year project with the goal to increase the resilience of communities facing natural hazards in diverse settings (including urban, rural, or island contexts), through applying evidence-based Nature-based Solutions (NbS) in collaboration with local stakeholders and expert partners.
